Post Grad
1 Waffles!

After the disasters known as Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2 and Post Grad, Alexis Bledel will be calling Lauren Graham and begging for a Gilmore Girls reunion film. Maybe a mini-series if she promises to buy Graham a fancy car or something.

Bledel stars as Ryden - a new, horribly named college graduate who thinks she has her whole life planned out (Ryden?). She loves her classes. She's getting good grades. The future's so bright she's gotta wear shades. Sadly, Ryden doesn't have a job waiting for her graduation, and, when she doesn't land her dream job in publishing, our new grad is off to travel the difficult, soul sucking, painful path to gainful employment.

Will Ryden find a job?

Will she finally start to care about the cute, but platonic guy, Adam (Zach Gilford),who will do anything for her?

Post Grad is like a thesis written by someone who needs to take some Ritalin to focus. Director Vicky Jenson and writer Kelly Fremon want to make several different movies instead of the one we were promised. When Ryden is seeing her world fall apart and struggles to find a job, Post Grad is on the right track. We may have seen this struggle before, but, given what's happening in the world today, it makes Ryden a relatable, sympathetic character.

However Jenson and Fremon want to toss in a love triangle, incorporate wacky family problems, and attempt to teach us a lesson about what is really important in life. YUCK!

Instead of being zany, Bledel comes off as whiny and annoying. Michael Keaton (who must have run out of Batman money) is wasted as her dimwitted father as Jenson and Fremon make the guy into a big doofus, instead of a respectable parental authority. Even Carol Burnett can't get enough mileage out of her pathetic role as the grandmother who is convinced she is dying (Is Burnett related to one of the producers and doing him or her a favor?). Fremon and Jenson don't give Burnett a chance to be awesome. They don't give anybody a chance to be awesome.

Post Grad is a flop.

Post Grad is rated PG-13 for sexual situations and brief strong language.
